| Oracle Secure Enterprise Search (SES) – Product UpdateWhat is It?Effective December 12, 2013 - Oracle Secure Enterprise Search (SES), a standalone product which enables a high quality, secure search across all enterprise information assets has been removed from the Oracle Technology Price List and is no longer available. The Embedded Products & Royalty Matrix – Statement of Changes (December 12, 2013) has been updated. Why Does It Matter?Existing customers will continue to receive support per Oracle’s Lifetime Support policy. Note that Premier Support for SES 11.1 ends in February 2015 (approximately 1 year from now), after which support will transition to Sustaining Support. Extended Support is not available. Partners who are concerned about the expiration of Premier Support should plan transitioning from SES immediately.Oracle does not offer a replacement for SES, so partners who consider transitioning will need to migrate to non-Oracle search products. Because of the proprietary nature of search engines and algorithms, it will not be possible to reuse the SES contents with another search engine.Call To ActionOracle Secure Enterprise Search (SES) should be taken off the table if the product is part of any current discussionsAction - Sales Teams who have partners with Design Wins or current licensees or reporting royalties should inform their partnersof the change, so that they can plan for their next course of action (i.e., stay on SES and work with the support limitations, or migrate away from SES). |
